Shravya Sadashiv Chikkatti gets famous through India Book of Records

New Delhi: Placing all the countries on the world map, placing and reciting all the states of India and some country names, identifying 25 animals, ten flowers, 15 fruits, ten colours, five shapes, 20 body parts; reading and writing the English alphabets; reciting 10 rhymes, days of the week, months of the year in English and Hindi, numbers from 1-100, at the tender age of 3 years and 6 months, this is the record made by Shravya Sadashiv Chikkatti from Athani, according to the India Book of Records (IBR).

Her parents had no idea that some record was coming to their daughter’s way, when they bought the maps of India and world simply for playing purpose. She started placing all the states and countries on the map and reciting all the names of the states and some countries one by one very easily. Then they came to know about the India Book of Records. Seeing many kids creating records and getting published in the India Book of Record, they thought of applying,

Her mother says, “My daughter has the capacity to capture anything in a short time. She is extremely curious, always asking questions about everything. We were posting her activities on social media, when few of our friends said that one day the child will make a record. This inspired us to proceed further.

At the age of two years, her parents brought her maps, alphabets, games related to fruits and vegetables to play. At the age of two and a half years, she recited the names of months, days of the week, alphabets, numbers, nursery rhymes, animals, colours etc. Few of her videos on social media got viral too.

She also joined the classes of Bharatnatyam and Karate at a tender age. Thus, her journey for this success began at the age of one and a half years. She practised only 15 days for attempting the record. Lockdown was a good time for all these activities.

According to her parents, a child is like an empty slate and we have to fill it with proper guidance and support. Every child has the capacity to do something special. Parents should identify the skills of a child and groom it.
